Role Overview

The School Nursing service comprises a large skill mix team, structured to deliver core and targeted health input through the Healthy Child Programme to all school‑aged children and their families. Car drivers are desirable but not essential. This is a fixed‑term, term‑time only role.

Main Duties
  • Providing clinical support to the school health team, by undertaking duties as delegated by the Team Lead/School Nurse, in support of the delivery of commissioned school health service.
  • Contributing to the delivery of the health promotion programme and National Childhood Measurement Programme (NCMP) for the school health service in line with the Healthy Child Programme and local service specifications.
  • Contributing to delivery of Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018), including improving health and life chances for children and families and safeguarding those at risk.
  • To deliver the role in accordance with CLCH Trust values and behaviours.

Essential qualifications
  • N.N.E.B./BTEC Diploma in Child Care or NVQ in Child Care level 3 or equivalent
Desirable qualifications
  • Educated to Diploma level in a health‑related subject.
Essential experience
  • Experience of working with children and families in a formal health, educational or social care setting.
  • Evidence of ongoing training in Early Years.
  • Experience of working as a team member and on your own.

  • Experience of leading group work.
