Job summary

The post holder will be responsible for providing management and clinical leadership for a team of healthcare professionals in the delivery of NHS Children and Young Peoples Continuing Care across Birmingham and Solihull ICB.

Have operational oversight of the delivery of the NHS Children and Young Peoples Continuing Care function including assessments, reviews, commissioning and case management.

Responsibilities

Support a range of children's commissioning activities within the function of the All Age Continuing Healthcare Team. Identify service priorities, set and monitor standards, develop child‑centred care planning, and ensure the team has the right skills and support to deliver a high quality service. Communicate with and actively influence a range of internal and external stakeholders, including clinical and professional leads, senior managers and executive board members, to improve outcomes for this vulnerable group of children and young people.

Person Specification

Experience – Essential

  • Dual registered sick children's nurse/Registered Nurse with a current NMC registration or equivalent
  • Professional development experience

  • Clear evidence of successfully working with a wide range of external organisations, patients and the public
  • Ability to facilitate negotiations and manage challenging workplace situations

Experience – Desirable
