A leading health trust in Lancaster is seeking a motivated pharmacist for a permanent band 6 rotational position. We are looking for a clinically orientated, enthusiastic, highly motivated and adaptable Pharmacist to join our team. The opportunity is for a permanent band 6 rotational pharmacist position at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary site, located within minutes from the city centre.
Applications are welcomed from trainee pharmacists due to register shortly and pharmacists with experience in other disciplines within pharmacy, with training to support moving sector provided. The successful candidate will join our ward-based clinical team and have opportunities to develop clinical skills through carefully managed rotations in different inpatient areas including cardiology, respiratory, orthopaedics, paediatrics, general surgery and acute medicine, as well as department-based specialist roles including aseptic, oncology, homecare and clinical trials. We encourage all junior Pharmacists to undertake a clinical diploma and will support them with this.
We operate from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, plus community health premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. FGH and the RLI have general hospital services with Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and consultant-led services. WGH provides general hospital services with an Urgent Treatment Centre for non-life threatening conditions. All three main hospitals offer planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery, with local outreach services and diagnostics from community facilities across Morecambe Bay. Our community services for adults are provided in people’s homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals, aiming to help people remain independent and manage their conditions with high-quality care, advice and support.
