Job Summary

At Practice Plus Group we put people’s wellbeing first. Our Health in Justice service line is expanding into non‑custodial healthcare, using a person‑centred approach delivered through a solid and consolidated infrastructure to assess individuals’ mental health and neurodiversity requirements and redirect them to the most appropriate channel. We are looking for a Clinical Liaison & Diversion Practitioner to join our team in South Yorkshire.

Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday (hours to be discussed).
Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 FTE, depending on experience.

Location

South Yorkshire Courts & South Yorkshire.

Main duties
  • Guide and support a team of clinicians to effectively run the MHTR pathway, being a trauma‑informed, motivated and supportive team member. Deliver evidence‑based assessments, interventions, consultations and support the service users’ journey.
  • Work in partnership with the Police, National Probation Service, HM Courts & Tribunals Service, drug and alcohol support services, and the wider Liaison and Diversion services to lead a therapeutic team whose primary goal is to improve health‑care outcomes and reduce re‑offending for those experiencing mental‑health difficulties.
  • Oversee, conduct and review risk assessments for suitability of treatment and level of engagement to inform court recommendations.
Qualifications and skills required
  • Accredited postgraduate qualification in clinical, counselling or forensic psychology, conferring eligibility for HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist.
  • Knowledge of evidence‑based psychological therapies relevant to managing mental‑health distress.
  • Experience working with adult mental‑health services or related areas, such as criminal justice services with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Evidence of clinical leadership responsibilities and supervisory/management responsibilities.
