Location: Southend-on-Sea, Essex

Full-time - 35 hours per week

Community-Based Role Addiction Services

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Lead / GP with a Special Interest in Addiction to join our dedicated team at the Southend-on-Sea Community Addictions Service. This is a full-time, community-based leadership role, ideal for a dynamic clinician with a passion for substance misuse services and a recovery-focused approach to care.

About the Role

As Clinical Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the quality of addiction treatment services across the Essex region. You will work closely with the Southend-on-Sea Operations Manager and a skilled multi-disciplinary team, contributing to:

  • Clinical service development and improvement
  • Delivering high-quality, evidence-based addiction treatment
  • Supporting clients through their recovery journey
  • Providing clinical leadership and guidance
  • Running clinical sessions across the county
  • Participating in audits, quality assurance, and service performance monitoring
Candidate Requirements

We are looking for a candidate who meets one or more of the following criteria:

  • On the Specialist Register of the Royal College of Psychiatrists with an endorsement in Substance Misuse
  • A Consultant Addiction Psychiatrist
  • A General Practitioner (GP) with a Special Interest in Addiction
  • A Specialist Addiction Doctor with a minimum of 7 years\' experience in the field
  • Other relevant experience in addiction medicine may also be considered
