Overview

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this post is: Monday to Friday 08:30 – 16:30.

Location

This role is based at West of Scotland Mobility and Rehabilitation Centre (WestMARC), Queen Elizabeth University Hospital campus. The role is based within our reception and filing room, greeting all patients and visitors to the building both in person and on the telephone and offering support to a wide range of clinical staff. Ensuring the smooth running of the department including opening and closing at the beginning and end of day.

Responsibilities
  • Work in the filing room responsible for safe storage of patient records, ordering and maintaining stock levels, using alphabetic and numerical systems to organise paper and electronic records.
  • Support reception duties by greeting patients and visitors, handling enquiries and assisting clinical staff as required.
  • Ensure the smooth running of the department, including opening and closing at the start and end of day.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Applicants should be educated to a high standard or have equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • 5 years’ experience in an administration and/or reception environment.
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to interact at all levels with members of the public, staff and senior management colleagues.
