Clerical Officer - South District Nurse Team

Are you a proactive and organised individual looking to make a meaningful contribution to community healthcare? We have an exciting opportunity to join our friendly and supportive District Nurse Administration Team as a Clerical Officer, based at Selby Hospital with regular travel required to Sherburn and Tadcaster.

You’ll work closely with our Admin Assistant to provide essential administrative support to the District Nursing teams, helping to coordinate patient visits, manage communications, and ensure the smooth running of our services.

Working pattern – Mondays & Thursdays 7.5hr per day or Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays 5hr per day.

Main duties of the job
  • Order and manage stock supplies, ensuring rotation in line with guidelines
  • Schedule visits and appointments at the request of other care providers
  • Communicate with patients and professionals on behalf of the nursing team
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records, including archiving
  • Contribute to a high‑quality admin service in a busy clinical environment

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with a wide range of people
  • Can prioritise tasks effectively and work flexibly in a patient‑centred way
  • Works well independently and as part of a team

Experience with NHS systems and SystmOne is desirable but not essential – full training will be provided.

Education, Qualifications & Training
  • Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent. Maths and English at C or above – or equivalent qualification /demonstrable experience
  • Computer literacy skills to RSA 2, NVQ 2 or equivalent
  • ECDL
Experience & Knowledge
  • Previous Office/Administrative experience (1 year minimum)
  • Previous Office/Administrative experience in an NHS environment
  • Experience of dealing with confidential information
  • Previous experience of working in a patient centred environment
