Job summary

A healthcare provider in Scotland seeks a candidate to manage health records and facilitate patient appointments. Responsibilities include maintaining confidentiality and ensuring accurate data in the patient management system. Qualifications

Job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across clinical and non‑clinical roles, delivering acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

Shift pattern: Monday & Tuesday 8:45 am – 5:00 pm, Wednesday‑Friday 8:45 am – 4:30 pm.

Role type: Permanent post.

This post supports effective clinical care by providing an efficient Health Records service to patients, medical and nursing staff. Responsibilities include:

  • Administering and processing patient appointments for outpatient clinics, day cases and inpatient admissions.
  • Ensuring patient health records remain confidential, securely stored and readily available.
  • Maintaining electronic and paper‑based patient record systems with accurate and up‑to‑date information.
  • Updating patient demographic and administrative data in the patient management system.

Qualifications and experience:

  • National 4 or Level 1 qualification in three subjects, including English or equivalent.
  • General administration and office experience / previous clerical experience (desirable).
  • Computer literate with good keyboard skills.
  • Previous reception experience (desirable).
  • Experience of using a Patient Management System (desirable; training will be provided).

Location: Initial base will be Glasgow Dental Hospital; posts are GGC‑wide and may be moved to any location.
