Job summary

A local educational authority is seeking a Clerical Assistant to provide front-line clerical support at Fair Isle Primary School. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day operations of the school office and ensure effective communication with staff and visitors. Applicants must possess a minimum of 4 qualifications at SCQF level 4, including English and Maths, and must obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership. This is a permanent position offering 36 hours per week with a salary range of £24,740.74–£25,885.80 pro rata.

Job Details

We are looking for a highly skilled Clerical Assistant to provide front line clerical support in a Primary or Nursery School, acting as the focal point for staff and visitors. The postholder will be responsible for responding to changes in procedures and IT systems and for ensuring the effective day-to-day running of the school office. As a Clerical Assistant, you will work under the direction and supervision of the Headteacher or Admin Assistant/Coordinator.

Qualification, Registration and Skill Requirements

You are required to have a minimum of 4 qualifications at SCQF level 4, including English and Maths (e.g. National 4, Standard Grades at General Level or O grades).

Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
