Job description

We have an opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to work in our Swindon Clearance Processing Centre in Europa Industrial Park. The role is 5 days a week, Monday till Friday working from 7:45am until 4:15pm. The role reports to the Continuous Improvement Manager and you’ll be managing the activity within the Clearance Processing Centre, to deliver a professional, cost effective and customer focused storage and distribution solution. Ensuring all Health & Safety, standard operating procedures and compliance measures are met and the warehouse is operating at maximum efficiency. The Warehouse Operations Manager will continuously review ways of working, identifying and implementing improvements. Responsible for delegating tasks to their colleagues and setting targets and goals to keep the operation on track. Creating and maintaining a safe working environment for all warehouse colleagues. Managing, motivating and inspiring all warehouse colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Control all operational aspects of the area of the Clearance Processing Centre so that they are carried out safely, cost- effectively, efficiently and with high emphasis upon customer service.
  • Working with the Clearance team to manage the shift operations on a day-to-day basis, ensuring all work and administration is completed to agreed standards.
  • To ensure all warehouse operational tasks are fully executed, such as, picking, dispatch, loading, unloading, and waste solutions.
  • Ensure there is enough, skilled resource and equipment in place.
  • Ensuring that all aspects of the operation are always compliant with current H&S legislation and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Supporting the business and the operation in delivering and tracking KPIs.
  • Complete daily activity reports and submissions regarding your shift and areas of responsibility as required and to all agreed standards.
  • Motivate, inspire and develop your team to achieve their own and business goals.
  • Ensure that all members of your warehouse team receive appropriate training and development to ensure they can deliver in their
  • Control all areas of expenditure within your area of responsibility and promote a commercially focused approach within your team.
  • Complete investigation meetings as required maintaining strong relationships with HR and Health and Safety.
Skills and Experience
  • Experience of managing or working in a warehouse or distribution environment
  • Effective communication skills and proven ability to motivate and manage a team of people
  • Demonstrable knowledge of developing, motivating and training teams to achieve expected KPIs.
  • IT literate with knowledge of WMS systems
  • Ability to produce, understand and report on operational performance information
  • Focused on always delivering excellent service to all customers.
  • Able to cope with change and manage own workload and priorities
  • Able to deliver results and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of relevant H&S, HR legislation and good practice
