Job summary

A local government council in Wales is seeking cleaners to provide effective cleaning services at various buildings. Qualifications

  • Previous experience of working within the cleaning industry or a cleaning related discipline/environment.
  • Basic understanding of the various cleaning tasks required to provide an efficient and effective premises Cleaning Service.
  • Good verbal communication skills and the ability to converse with members of the public and client officers.
  • Be physically able to carry out manual and active labouring duties.
  • Must be able to work on own initiative and undertake duties in an effective manner.
  • Positive and self-motivated with the ability to be flexible and responsive to changes in priorities and demands.
  • Be prepared to work irregular hours.
  • Ability to drive/travel throughout the Vale or between locations as appropriate.

  • To cover other cleaners during periods of holidays, sickness, staff shortages and other absences.
  • To occasionally assist the chargehand /Site Supervisor with the training of cleaning staff.
  • To undertake all aspects of cleaning tasks such as carpet cleaning and steam cleaning.

Pay Details: Grade 1 - SCP 2, £24,413 (Pro Rata), £12.65 (Hourly Rate)

Hours of Work / Working Pattern: Monday to Friday.

Term time 10hrs/week (38 weeks).

Recess 8 hrs/week (5 weeks).

  • To undertake all aspects of cleaning tasks such as; carpet cleaning and steam cleaning, all site specification cleaning, builders cleans, recess cleaning and other cleaning not normally stated in the site specification.
