Overview

Class 2 Driver – Location: Tamworth, B78 1SQ

Shifts: Monday to Friday, starting at 20:00

Pay Rate: £17 per hour

We are currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 2 Drivers for a well-established automotive logistics provider based in Tamworth. This is a Monday to Friday night role with no weekend work, offering consistent routes and a stable working schedule.

Our client is a third-party provider of transportation and logistics services that offers a range of services from, Drayage, Global freight forwarding & Full truckload transport. The company is committed to environmental sustainability and works with customers to create action plans to reduce emissions.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivery of automotive parts including cages, pallets with engines or gearboxes (offloaded via pump truck) and light boxed items (e.g., paper bumpers)
• You will be responsible for loading your own vehicle, with assistance from the loading team
• 2 delivery points per night, first drop is Hinckley and then London. Both delivery points are unmanned overnight so you will be issued keys and access codes to let yourself in and will be required to secure the site on departure.
• You will be required to let themselves into the lockup area, deliver and collect returns/ empties for return to Mobis.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Class 2 driving experience
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Maximum 6 penalty points - no DD, DR, IN or CD endorsements
• Safety boots and hi-vis must be always worn
• Physically fit and able to unload using a pump truck or manual handling for smaller items

Assessment Process

All candidates must attend a site-based assessment which includes:

• Highway Code theory test
• Reversing onto a bay and general yard manoeuvres
• 45-minute driving assessment
• If successful, you\'ll complete induction and onboarding paperwork on the same day
