In this role, you'll take responsibility for managing high-value and litigated claims from start to finish; providing expert legal and technical advice, driving resolution strategies, and maintaining close collaboration with underwriters, risk managers, and external counsel. You'll also play an active role in wider risk management initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with industry best practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and assess notifications and advise on potential liability exposure.
  • Manage relationships with external legal counsel and Members throughout the lifecycle of claims.
  • Ensure timely, effective, and cost-efficient resolution of disputes.
  • Keep stakeholders informed on claim reserves and exposures.
  • Monitor and interpret legal and regulatory developments relevant to insurance intermediaries.
  • Prepare clear, concise legal and technical reports for internal and external audiences.
  • Contribute to internal risk management programmes and participate in key claims review meetings.
About You
  • Extensive experience managing complex, high-value, and litigated professional indemnity claims, ideally within insurance or private practice.
  • Strong understanding of liability and defence strategies for professional risks, particularly within the insurance intermediary sector.
  • Qualified lawyer (LLB or equivalent), admitted in the UK or through the Solicitor Qualifying Examination (SQE).
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to balance multiple priorities with precision and attention to detail.
Core Competencies
  • Service-focused and collaborative approach to stakeholder relationships.
  • Strategic legal thinker with sound commercial judgment.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills at all levels.
  • Adaptable, reliable, and detail-oriented under pressure.
  • Motivated by career progression and contributing to a high-performing team.

You'll join a well-established, international insurance organisation with a collaborative, professional culture and a strong focus on internal career progression. Expect a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and hybrid working (three days in-office, two from home).
