Job summary

A prestigious legal recruitment firm located in Cambridge is seeking a professional to manage client relations and provide high-quality legal services, particularly in Medical Negligence. The ideal candidate will have excellent client service skills and support senior team members while demonstrating sensitivity towards disabled and elderly clients. This role includes responsibilities from case planning through to post-settlement, ensuring ethical and professional service standards are maintained.

  • Managing expectations.
  • Assessing risks in ongoing cases.
  • Providing guidance on medical negligence claims.

Responsibilities
  • Handling initial client instructions
  • Screening new enquiries and managing cases from planning through to post‑settlement, including gathering evidence, reviewing medical records, and drafting chronologies
  • Instructing counsel and experts
  • Participating in departmental meetings
  • Supporting senior team members by assisting with their caseloads and covering during absences
  • Advising clients on funding
  • Managing expectations
  • Assessing risks in new and ongoing cases
  • Providing guidance on medical negligence claims, complaints, inquests, and access to medical records
Qualifications

In addition to the above, you will need to be able to demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of disabled and elderly clients while maintaining high standards of professional service and ethical responsibility. A proven ability to deliver high‑quality legal services independently, with a strong track record in Medical Negligence is also required. You must also possess excellent client service skills with an ability to build trusted relationships, as well as actively contributing to the firm’s community and CSR initiatives.
