Since its formation our client has grown into a world-class, quality-focused precast concrete manufacturer based outside Ballymena. With a strong customer-focused approach, they have continually evolved their extensive product range to meet the needs of civil infrastructure, agriculture, and building sectors across the UK and Ireland.
They are now seeking a Civil Manager to work efficiently and lead the Civil Sales team, driving the company\'s vision forward while maximising sales opportunities to achieve both sales and gross profit targets.
Responsibilities
- Drive sales performance and achieve revenue targets in the civil engineering and construction materials sector.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders within the civil engineering industry.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, expanding the customer base and strengthening the company\'s position in the market.
- Work closely with internal teams and logistics to ensure customer satisfaction and seamless delivery of services.
- Provide precise cost estimates for civil engineering and construction projects to support competitive and profitable tender submissions.
- Lead the bid and tendering process to secure new projects, ensuring all submissions align with client requirements and company standards.
- Work closely with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure clarity and efficiency in the estimating and bidding processes.
- Support business development by identifying trends, opportunities, and strategies to enhance the company\'s market position.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of civil engineering products, solutions, and services to effectively communicate benefits to clients.
- Prepare and deliver accurate quotes, bids, and proposals in response to client inquiries and project requirements.
- Lead contract negotiations and ensure favourable terms while maintaining strong client relationships.
- Provide post-sale support to ensure client satisfaction and resolve any issues promptly.
- Regularly report on sales performance, market insights, and forecasts to line Manager.
- Lead, motivate, and train sales teams to achieve goals, ensuring alignment with the company\'s vision.
- Ensure all sales activities comply with industry regulations and company policies. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and reliable service.
- Participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
- Deputise as needed for the Head of Sales & Marketing
- Any other duties, within reason and capability, as agreed through consultation with the Head of Sales & Marketing
Essential Criteria
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of management experience, leading sales teams or similar.
- Strong sales and estimating experience in the civil engineering/construction sector.
- Ability to read drawings and bar schedules.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a busy team
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
