A leading engineering firm in Southampton is seeking Civil Design Engineers of all levels to join their team. You will produce designs for civil infrastructure and work collaboratively with electrical and mechanical teams. Ideal candidates will have experience in clean and dirty water sectors and strong skills in AutoCAD. The firm offers comprehensive benefits, including a company car and career development support.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to undertake civil design to current codes and standards.
  • Experience in clean and/or dirty water sectors.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety legislation relating to CDM regulations.

Our Civil Design Team is experiencing substantial growth and we are therefore now recruiting for Civil Design Engineers of all levels, to be a valued part of our professional design team. Drawing together inputs from our electrical and mechanical teams, the Civil Design Engineers will produce original designs for civil infrastructure, including design and detail of temporary works within clean & dirty water and other sectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaison with clients to understand their specific requirements
  • Preparation of outline designs for tenders within short timescales
  • Preparation of clear and well-structured design calculations and reports
  • Provision of support and design proposals to site teams from pre-construction to construction phase

Key Skills/Background:

  • Proven ability to undertake civil design to current codes and standards
  • A background of working within the clean and/or dirty water sectors
  • Thorough knowledge of safety legislation relating to CDM regulations
  • Hydraulic Design Experience
  • IT literate, must be a proficient user of Microsoft packages, understanding of AutoCAD

Qualifications:

  • HND/BEng Civil Engineering or Civil Structural Engineering or by experience
  • Chartered status would be beneficial but not essential
