Qualifications

  • Full, valid UK driving licence.

Job Title: Civils and Drainage Engineer

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000

This is a great opportunity to join our client, an industry‑leading, forward‑thinking multidisciplinary consultancy renowned for delivering expertise across the engineering and energy sectors. The firm is looking for a talented, enthusiastic Civils and Drainage Engineer to work alongside a well‑established team of experts in civil engineering, drainage and flood risk, based near the industrial town of Scunthorpe.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and deliver a range of drainage and other infrastructure and non‑infrastructure solutions for a variety of clients
  • Work on interesting projects across residential, commercial, industrial, energy and education sectors
  • Produce reports and other technical documents to support planning applications and project delivery
  • Collaborate with other internal and external teams to deliver aspects of high‑profile projects
  • Liaise with colleagues, clients and key stakeholders at all stages of project delivery, from inception to implementation
  • Attend site meetings and other relevant project meetings, acting as a trusted representative of the company
  • Mentor and support other colleagues
Required skills and experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Demonstrable experience in a design‑based role with a focus on drainage in a UK consultancy or local authority setting
  • Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civils 3D and InfoDrainage/MicroDrainage
  • Sound understanding of relevant Section Agreements (e.g. S104, S106, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organisational skills and ability to work as part of a high‑performing team as well as independently
  • Ability to work well under pressure, adhering to industry standards, regulations, health and safety standards
  • Full, valid UK driving licence
Desirable skills and experience
  • Keen interest in proactively pursuing Chartership status
  • Master’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Proficiency with Site3D
