Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience in the Water Industry with potable, surface, and foul water design.
  • Civil Engineering degree and preferably a Masters.
  • Experience in 3D design and modelling using software such as MicroDrainage and/or InfoDrainage.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of Civil Engineering design on various water sector projects.
  • Work within a dynamic team overseen by Senior and Principal Engineers.
  • Contribute to new and replacement potable water mains and sustainable drainage designs.

Skills

We have an opening for a Civil Engineer who has a wealth of experience in Water & Utilities to join a SME design consultancy in Cardiff. This is an exciting opportunity to support the multi-billion-pound pipeline of work that is required by the UK Water Authorities during AMP 8 and beyond.

You’ll be working within a dynamic team and overseen by a Senior Engineer and Principal Engineer, you will contribute to the delivery of the Civil Engineering design on a range of challenging projects across the water sector including but not limited to: New and replacement potable water mains, foul drainage including CSO remediation works, and both Sustainable Urban Drainage and conventional surface water drainage design.

What you need to succeed
  • 3+ years’ experience in the Water Industry with potable, surface, and foul water design and/or construction
  • Civil Engineering degree and preferably a Masters
  • Have measurable progression with or be willing to work towards Professional Qualification with the Institution of Civil Engineers or Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management
  • To have experience in 3D design and modelling using software such as MicroDrainage and/or InfoDrainage & Water Authority statutory approval processes such as S104, S106 etc
  • To have experience / an understanding on SuDS Approval Body involvement.
  • Ability to manage concurrent projects ensuring prioritisation of tasks and deliverables to ensure effective delivery
  • Ability to work using own initiative and demonstrate a methodical approach
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
