Overview

The Vacancy: Binnies, an RSK Group Company, is looking for Civil Engineers to join our @one Alliance. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary project team, providing civil engineering capability and design expertise to develop and deliver water and water recycling solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Production of civil designs, calculations and specifications to the Issued For Construction standard for water, wastewater or pipeline projects, liaising with CAD technicians to produce 3D models or 2D drawings.
  • Work within multi-discipline design teams to deliver designs on time, within budget and to required standards, liaising with stakeholders including Operations, contractors and suppliers.
  • Drive excellence in Health and Safety in design by eliminating hazards and reducing risks during design, while complying with Alliance CDM procedures.
  • Progress projects from feasibility through detailed design to construction.
  • Undertake site visits to assess current asset condition for feasibility studies, reports and to provide survey data for integration into the design solution.
  • Provide support to update existing, and increase the use of, Standard Products within design solutions on a repeatable basis.
  • Identify and promote opportunities to meet project digital, sustainability, innovation and people objectives.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Minimum of HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent demonstrable experience in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience in designing civil engineering structures within the Water and Waste Water Industry.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and relevant engineering design software; confident in using British Standards and Eurocodes.
  • Ability to interpret ground investigation reports to enable correct solution design.
  • Strong communication skills across a range of stakeholders; ability to work collaboratively to meet and exceed expectations.
  • Strong reporting, writing and data analysis capabilities with a proactive approach to improving ways of working.
