Qualifications

Job description

My client, a diverse, innovative Multidisciplinary Consultancy is currently searching for a Civil Engineer to join their experienced team of drainage and highways engineers, based near the lively city of Liverpool.

Essential Criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Demonstrable experience of having worked in a consultancy-based role
  • Hold Chartered Engineer status, or actively working to attain this
  • A good understanding of steel and concrete design, with reference to Eurocodes and similar framework guidelines
  • Commercial awareness of project delivery
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Standard Security Clearance level (or the willingness to undergo the appropriate vetting procedures)

It would also benefit applicants for the role of Civil Engineer to possess the following skills:

  • Knowledge of blast, seismic, or other dynamic analysis
  • Structural design of aluminium or glass
  • Awareness of computational fluid dynamics and/or non-linear finite element analysis

In the varied role of Civil Engineer, you will join a dedicated team of experts in the field, with a view to developing your career and progress through the ranks. The role will involve a number of exciting responsibilities, including:

  • Liaise with a number of clients to establish project requirements and deliver the desired outcomes
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders, internal and external, to develop design strategies
  • Deliver design duties when working on a range of design and build projects, adhering to performance specifications, attending sites and monitoring compliance requirements
  • Support an array of contractors to ensure construction works comply with project specifications
  • Work with manufacturers to design and develop new products
  • Deliver projects to the highest of standards, completed on time and within budget
  • Supervise the completion of structural calculations
  • Complete vehicle dynamics assessments in relation to the specification and design of hostile vehicle mitigation
  • Mentoring a team of junior colleagues
