Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy in the UK is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to develop innovative design solutions for water and wastewater. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Civil Engineering and experience in the UK water sector, using CAD/BIM tools like AutoCAD. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success. This role allows for office or hybrid work arrangements, requiring some site visits.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Chartered or working towards professional status (ICE or equivalent).
  • Experience in the UK water sector (clean water, wastewater, or drainage).
  • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of UK water industry standards and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop civil design solutions for water and wastewater networks.

  • Develop civil design solutions for water and wastewater networks, pumping stations, treatment works, and associated infrastructure.
  • Prepare drawings, models, specifications, and design documentation using CAD / BIM tools.
  • Carry out engineering calculations, hydraulic assessments, and feasibility studies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including process, mechanical, and electrical engineers.
  • Ensure designs meet health, safety, sustainability, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical input during project delivery and support site teams when required.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure successful project outcomes.
