Job summary

A leading technology firm is seeking a Cisco Network Engineer to join a secure infrastructure project in Cumbria. This contract role, outside IR35, requires SC or DV clearance and offers competitive market rates. Candidates should have strong experience in Cisco routing and switching, firewall configuration, and network troubleshooting in secure environments. Familiarity with defence or government sectors is beneficial. On-site presence is needed once or twice a week for effective collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience with Cisco routing and switching at CCNP level or above is required.
• Strong background in firewall and security appliance configuration.
• Ability to troubleshoot networks in complex and secure environments.

Responsibilities

• Support a secure infrastructure programme in the Barrow-in-Furness region.
• Work on-site to maintain and troubleshoot network systems in a high-security environment.

Skills

Strong Cisco routing & switching experience (CCNP level or above)

Firewall & security appliance configuration

Network troubleshooting in complex, secure environments

Experience within defence, government or similarly regulated sectors

Comfortable working on-site within a high-security facility
