Are you a passionate Children's Deputy Manager or Team Leader/Senior ready to take the next step in your career?

Personpower is proud to be working with a well‑established and highly regarded Children's Residential provider based in Colchester for young people aged between 8 - 17 with emotional and behavioural needs.

The Role

As the Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in the day‑to‑day running of the home. You will lead by example, ensuring the highest standards of care and safeguarding are maintained. This is a hands‑on role combining leadership responsibilities with direct care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Registered Manager in ensuring the home meets Ofsted regulations and achieves "good" or "outstanding" ratings.
  • Lead shifts and supervise a team of Support Workers.
  • Support in rota planning, staff development and mentoring.
  • Manage and oversee care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies.
  • Promote positive outcomes in education, health and emotional wellbeing.
  • Act as a designated safeguarding lead in the absence of the manager.
About You
  • NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or Children & Young people).
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Deputy Manager or strong Team Leader/Senior experience with an understanding of Regulations and Supporting Reg 44 visits.
  • Knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations and Ofsted.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisation skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and Full Right to Work.
