We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children’s Support Worker with experience working with young people in supported living environments.

As a Support Worker, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, happiness, and well-being of children and young people. Some individuals may require round-the-clock care, and your role will involve empowering them to make their own choices while fostering independence.

Key Responsibilities

At the heart of this role is putting people first. Every young person has unique needs and personalities, and your responsibilities will be tailored accordingly.

Health and Wellbeing
  • Support children and young people in making positive choices about healthy eating, exercise, and personal hygiene.
  • Provide emotional support and assistance with dressing, washing, and personal care when needed.
Leisure and Social Activities
  • Encourage participation in activities such as arts and crafts, sports, or outings to local cafes and parks.
  • Help young people stay connected to their community by organizing and supporting social interactions.
Daily Living Skills
  • Assist with planning outings, attending appointments, shopping, cooking, and cleaning.
  • Provide guidance and encouragement to help them develop essential life skills.
Protecting Rights and Promoting Respect
  • Advocate for the rights of children and young people with learning disabilities or complex needs to ensure they are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Prevent potential abuse or exploitation by maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
Administrative Duties
  • Accurately dispense and record medications for those in your care.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records in line with legislative and care standards.
