Overview

Childcare Apprenticeship – Level 3 – Cygnet Nursery Oxford. The Aspire Training Team are currently recruiting for a punctual, reliable and enthusiastic individual to join Cygnet Nursery as a Level 3 Childcare Apprentice. Cygnet Nursery is an Ofsted registered day nursery for children up to five years old. The aim of the Nursery is to provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment in which children may learn and grow in confidence and self-esteem whilst providing a friendly, flexible childcare service for parents. The Nursery stands in its own grounds off Langford Lane, Kidlington, near Oxford Airport and The Spires Business Park. Langford Lane runs between the A4260 and the A44, to the north of Kidlington. It offers extensive indoor and outdoor play areas. There are four separate rooms catering for different age groups in two buildings on one large site.

Responsibilities
  • Key worker after a settling, assisting and caring for the children
  • Guiding the children through the curriculum encouraging social, emotional, physical and intellectual development
  • Observations
  • Planning and writing up learning journeys (paper based)
  • All aspects of personal care
  • Preparing snacks
  • Assisting at meal times
Hours and Location
  • Cygnet Nursery is open between 07:30 and 18:00, Monday to Friday
  • Working hours will be between 40 hours per week
Requirements
  • Level 2 Early Years Childcare Qualification is desired when applying for this role
  • A good level of experience in a nursery environment
  • GCSEs A*-C/4+ in English Language and Maths, or equivalent i.e. functional skills
  • Must be able to obtain clear DBS
  • First aid trained
