Childcare Activity Leader - Stanford Junior School - Brighton, East Sussex

Salary: Up to £12.21 depending on age and experience

Hours: Monday to Friday 2.45pm - 6pm

Department: Childcare

Reporting to: Head of Education and Welfare / Club Manager

Location : BN1 5PR

Overview

As an Activity Leader you will be part of the team specifically responsible for working at Afterschool Club delivering engaging and fun activities to the children in our care.

The role is usually term time only; however, we do run successful holiday camps with the attraction of additional hours throughout the year.

You will support children in all aspects of club, including the delivery of activities, during high‑tea, and at transitioning times. You will ensure that you are an excellent role model and meet the standards expected to deliver our high‑quality childcare.

Key tasks and responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Education and Welfare / Club Manager, your tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure children are safe, happy, and secure
  • Work with children of all ages and abilities
  • Lead activities
  • Follow plans and adapt when required
  • Organise children between activities
  • Have clear communication with your colleagues
  • Be a role model for children and younger staff
  • Attend regular meetings with your manager and team members
  • Be aware of staff ratios at all times
