Big Potato is a indie board game company based in Clerkenwell, London, known for creating engaging and entertaining social games. We make games that are easy to learn, quick to play and hard to put down. Our goal is to ensure every game we produce is enjoyable and brings people together.

As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our finance function and partner closely with the executive team to drive the company’s success. This is a crucial role in professionalising the finance function and working together with the senior stakeholders & PE-house in driving business growth as the company prepares for a capital event in the future.

Responsibilities
  • Financial management: managing all core finance processes: FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, organizational budget, financial audit, and tax compliance.
  • Strategic leadership: driving improvements in business performance by leveraging financial data & key insights, developing strategic plan with business stakeholders.
  • Systems & processes: implementing infrastructure and core processes to make the business operate more efficiently and galvanizing the finance function.
  • People development & leadership: leading the finance team, ensuring proper resource allocation, identifying team development needs, and creating opportunities to enhance knowledge & experience.
Qualifications
  • Private equity experience as CFO — working directly with PE-backed companies
  • Leading the successful exit of a private equity-backed business
  • 10–15+ years in finance/ops leadership, with experience as a CFO in a product-led business
  • Deep knowledge of inventory and cost management in a physical product based business
  • Experience working across E-Commerce & retail sales channels
  • Strong financial modelling and forecasting skills (Excel, dashboards, ERP systems, etc.)
