Job description

Nottinghamshire County FA is seeking an inspiring Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation through its next phase of growth and transformation. This is a senior leadership opportunity to shape the future of grassroots football, ensuring it is safe, inclusive, sustainable and accessible across Nottinghamshire.

Reporting to the Chair, the CEO will provide strategic leadership, oversee delivery of FA‑aligned programmes, strengthen stakeholder relationships and ensure long-term financial sustainability.

As Chief Executive Officer of Nottinghamshire FA, you will
  • Lead and deliver the County FA strategy aligned to FA Grassroots 2040
  • Drive participation, inclusion and safeguarding across grassroots football
  • Build strong relationships with clubs, leagues, volunteers and partners
  • Lead commercial growth, partnerships and income generation
  • Oversee financial management, governance and compliance
  • Inspire a high‑performing, values‑led staff and volunteer culture
What we’re looking for in a Chief Executive Officer
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent work experience)
  • Senior leadership experience (CEO, COO, Director or equivalent)
  • Proven financial and commercial management experience
  • Experience leading teams and organisational change
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including company law, equality legislation, employment and health and safety legislation
  • Experience working with volunteers or community organisations
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and equality, diversity and inclusion
  • A full, clean UK Driving Licence

You will also be required to pass an enhanced DBS check and a Companies House disqualified directors’ register.

You will be working 37 hours per week, with flexibility to work evenings and weekends where required. UK travel and occasional overnight stays will form part of the role.
