Job summary

A leading chemical services provider is seeking a capable Lab / Field Support Technician to provide on-site chemical services at a UK refinery. The successful candidate will conduct sampling, testing, and reporting while ensuring safety and quality standards. A degree in Chemistry, relevant experience, and a UK driving licence are required. This is a short-term role with potential for extension based on performance.

Qualifications

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Prior experience in industrial water treatment, fuel systems, or refinery operations preferred.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct oil and water sampling across refinery and field locations.
  • Perform basic laboratory testing and prepare technical reports.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to site stakeholders.
  • Support hydrocarbon process monitoring and additive dosing systems.
  • Manage on-site chemical inventory and maintain accurate stock records.
  • Uphold safety, environmental, and quality standards in all activities.
  • Liaise with customer teams to ensure service continuity and issue resolution.
  • Maintain clear documentation and contribute to audit readiness.

Initial fixed-term contract (mat leave cover), with potential for extension to long-term engagement based on performance and operational needs.

Seeking a capable Lab / Field Support Technician to provide on-site chemical services at a major UK refinery. This role supports hydrocarbon processing, water treatment, and fuel additive systems through hands-on sampling, testing, and reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with refinery teams and remote technical specialists to ensure accurate data, safe operations, and responsive customer service.
