A local government agency in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Chef for their welfare catering services. The role involves preparing meals for elderly individuals with specific dietary requirements. Ideal candidates should possess a Level 2 in Food Processing and Cooking along with at least three years of catering experience. An opportunity exists for suitable individuals to work within the Facility Operations as a Chef at ourWelfare Catering sites.
2 x 37 hours per week, 52 weeks.
Facility Services and Civic Management work across the city providing catering, caretaking, school meals and welfare catering services.
We have a large team of cleaners, cleaner supervisors, facility supervisors (caretakers), catering assistants, assistant chefs and chefs working various hours and shifts in schools and public buildings.
Our service is committed to delivering a high standard of service to our customers and in doing so investing in our staff and staff development.
We are looking for a creative professional chef with excellent leadership skills to join our team in welfare catering. You will be passionate about cooking and the people that you are cooking for.
You will be working over three sites where you will provide meals for elderly individuals who often have special diets and nutritional needs.
It is essential you hold a minimum NVQ level 2 in Food Processing and Cooking or equivalent. You must also have a minimum of 3 years’ experience of working within a busy catering environment.
