40 hours per week

Reporting to a regional Operations Manager, you will be an experienced leader actively involved in the cooking and service of all meals, the day-to-day running of the kitchen, and making the crew at Fonterra Lichfield smile! Think tasty, wholesome meals that our customers can order and eat in a short time frame before their next shift starts.

You will bring the best out in your team as you encourage and lead them to get the job done well, challenge them to improve, as well as work together, value and support each other. To succeed you will need excellent communication skills and pride yourself on producing a consistent and delicious meal, time and time again.

As a Site/Chef Manager with Cater Plus, training and development opportunities will be available to you via our Operations Team, Specialist Food Trainers, and regional and national workshops. If you’re open to learning and growing with Cater Plus then this could be your opportunity.

  • Prepare, cook, and serve a variety of cuisine.
  • Monitor quality of food at all stages of preparation and presentation.
  • Create menus to cater for a varied clientele and dietary requirements.
  • Manage food and labour expenditures to meet budget requirements and manage supply ordering with a sharp focus on profit and loss.
  • Coordinate site rosters and timesheets.
  • Manage interpersonal relationships and have the ability to advise and educate kitchen staff on cooking procedures and techniques.
  • Knowledge of MPI regulations and the ability to implement New Zealand Food Control & Safety regulations.
  • Prepare monthly health and safety reports.
  • Be able to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Monitor internal and external emails from the site inbox.
  • Have excellent culinary and baking skills, experience in a café setting is preferable.
  • Be friendly and engaging, with a desire to be a productive and positive member of the team.
  • Be passionate about good food, and great service.
  • Have good time management skills, excellent communication, and a flexible/can-do, committed attitude.
