We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Chef de Partie to join our culinary team for the night shift at our esteemed restaurant in Gateshead United Kingdom. As a Chef de Partie you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen during evening hours maintaining our high standards of food quality and presentation.

  • Prepare cook and present dishes according to our menu specifications and quality standards
  • Manage a specific section of the kitchen overseeing junior staff and ensuring efficient workflow
  • Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in menu planning and implementation
  • Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards in compliance with regulations
  • Monitor and control stock levels minimising waste and maintaining cost-effectiveness
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and coordinated food service
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in culinary techniques and kitchen procedures
  • Adapt to the fast-paced environment of night shift operations ensuring consistent food quality during peak hours
  • Assist in the development of new dishes and menu items as required
  • Maintain a clean and organised workstation throughout the shift
Qualifications
  • Culinary degree or diploma from a recognised institution
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role
  • Proven experience working night shifts in a professional kitchen environment
  • Strong culinary expertise and proficiency in various cooking techniques
  • In-depth knowledge of food preparation presentation and quality control
  • Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene standards with relevant certification
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Effective communication and team collaboration abilities
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and work in a kitchen environment
  • Flexibility to work nights weekends and holidays as required
  • Passion for culinary arts and commitment to delivering high-quality dishes
