Job Title: Chef

Location: Tickhill Road Site, Weston Road, Balby, Doncaster, DN4 8QN

Pay Rate: £12.47 per hour

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 06:30 - 14:30

We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join the catering team at Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive NHS environment, delivering high-quality, nutritious meals that support patient care and staff wellbeing.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals according to standard recipes, ensuring portion control and consistent quality
  • Monitor and maintain food safety and hygiene, including temperature checks
  • Operate kitchen equipment and machinery safely
  • Serve customers from retail outlets and support function catering for departments
  • Receive deliveries, rotate stock, and ensure proper storage of supplies
  • Promote catering outlets to help meet income targets
Requirements
  • Food Safety Level 2 and relevant catering qualification (City & Guilds 706/1, 706/2 or Level 2 NVQ in Food Production and Cooking)
  • Large-scale catering or kitchen experience
  • Ability to prepare and cook meals to standard recipes and portion control
  • Strong knowledge of food hygiene, HACCP, and kitchen safety
  • Teamwork and excellent communication skills
  • Flexible, reliable, and committed to high standards
