Our purpose‑built veterinary specialist centre in Mile End, Adelaide, is seeking dedicated Sterile Supply Assistants/CSSD Instrument Technicians to join our amazing team. About the Role:

Both Part‑Time and Full‑Time positions available.

As a Sterile Supply Assistant/Central Sterile Service Department Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our surgical and medical instruments are safe, sterile, and ready for use. Your responsibilities will include cleaning, sterilising, assembling, processing, and storing various medical devices and instruments—all while upholding our commitment to exceptional care and infection control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilise surgical instruments and veterinary equipment using appropriate methods. We have instrument washer‑disinfector, ultrasonic instrument cleaner, steam autoclave, low‑temperature plasma steriliser, RO water and much more.
  • Inspect, pack, and prepare instruments for surgical procedures, ensuring they meet the highest quality standards.
  • Maintain the standards of the Operating Theatre.
  • Operate and maintain equipment (washers, sterilisers, etc.) while conducting routine quality control checks.
  • Assist with inventory management, including stocking, organising, and ordering supplies.
  • Collaborate effectively with veterinary and surgical staff to ensure preparedness for all procedures.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and safety regulations to maintain a secure environment for patients and staff.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience as a Sterilisation Technician or in a similar role within a healthcare setting is essential.
  • Previous experience in a Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) or other sterile instrument processing capacity in a veterinary or human medicine setting is a plus.
  • A Certificate III in Sterilisation Services is advantageous, but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills, capable of thriving in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritise, plan, and respond to changes proactively.
  • Ability to work well both in a team and independently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a genuine passion for animal care.
