A local support organization in Cardiff is looking for a Personal Assistant to work with a young man with autism. The role involves motivating and supporting him in varied activities like cycling and attending the gym. This is a part-time position, offering £14.70 per hour, and candidates must have a valid National Insurance number and a driver's license. Essential qualities include patience, reliability, and a caring nature. 5.6 weeks paid holiday is included on a pro-rata basis.
Personal Assistant
I am a young man in my 20’s, living in the Rhiwbina area of Cardiff. I have autism, attention deficit and learning disabilities. I am looking to employ a personal care assistant(s) to support me accessing activities in my local community.
The PA will provide support to enable me to engage in varied activities such as cycling at pedal power, attending the gym and generally supporting me in any chosen activity which may also include activities going to the cinema or 10 pin bowling. However, exercising is my focus. I also need support to follow a basic learning plan helping me with reading & writing skills.
In my home and in the community.
5 hours - Friday (10-3) flexible
£14.70 per hour.
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You may be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
