Job summary

A leading property and facilities management firm is seeking a CDM Principal Designer / CDM Advisor to manage diverse projects across sectors such as healthcare and commercial offices. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience providing CDM Principal Designer / CDM Advisor services.

  • A full and clean driver's license required for regular travel across the UK.

To work as CDM Principal Designer / CDM Advisor, providing relevant duties on a wide variety of challenging and interesting projects covering many different construction sectors throughout the UK, including healthcare, commercial offices, education, retail, mixed‑use and residential schemes.

To help ensure a first‑class CDM Principal Designer / CDM Advisory service is provided.

And as a CDM Principal Designer / CDM Advisor with Summers‑Inman, you’ll do it by

  • You will be fulfilling the duties of the Principal Designer as defined under CDM 2015 including where necessary carrying out the role of CDM‑Advisor to support the client.
  • You’ll have relevant knowledge and understanding of CDM 2015 regulations and other relevant legislation, and you’ll be able to apply and implement those requirements at project level.
  • You’ll be planning, managing, monitoring and coordinating pre‑construction phases of projects to identify, eliminate, or control significant and foreseeable risks relating to construction, maintenance, cleaning and using the building as a workplace.
  • You’ll work with the client to gather preconstruction information, assess the adequacy, identify gaps and provide advice on how they might be filled and distribute to those that need it.
  • You'll be managing multiple projects for key clients to the business.
  • You’ll be attending client meetings and carrying out H&S site inspections and delivering high quality reports to the client within agreed deadlines.
  • You’ll will be providing clear, concise, and practical Health and Safety advice, guidance and coaching to project teams throughout all stages of the project.
  • You’ll be responsible for collating, preparing and issuing Health & Safety Files to the client.
  • You’ll be responsible for exploring potential cross‑sell opportunities across the wider Bellrock teams.
What does it take?

  • To have a minimum of 5 years experience of providing CDM Principal Designer / CDM Advisor services.
  • To have excellent working knowledge and understanding of CDM 2015 and appropriate legislation.
  • To hold a NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
  • To ideally be an incorporated member of the Association for Project Safety (IMaPs) or IOSH.
  • To have a full and clean driver’s license. A driving licence is essential. Regular travel across UK will be required.
  • To be well motivated.
  • To be a good communicator with interpersonal and organisational skills.

Working arrangements

We embrace smarter working practices which offer our employees the opportunity to work their hours flexibly and remotely where their roles and business needs allow. In this role, the successful candidate would be required to work from Summers Inman - Newcastle Bevan House, Sir Bobby Robson Way, NE13 9BA and Home Based.

Whilst the role is based in Newcastle, office attendance will be required, homeworking is fully supported, and site meeting attendance will form a significant element of the role.
