Qualifications

• Background in CCTV required.
• Experience in a similar role preferred.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Greet staff and monitor security protocols.
• Monitor CCTV and respond to incidents.
• Log calls and provide guidance to visitors.
• Complete daily occurrence and incident reports.

Job description

40 hours per week. Average 3.5 per week = 7 days over fortnight period – 2 × 12 hour shifts week 1 & 5 × 12 hour shifts week 2 on days, then follows the same pattern for nights with a 40 minute break. £12.79 per hour. Car parking available on site.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly professional and vigilant CCTV Operative to join our team at Merville Barracks, Circular Road South, Colchester, CO2 7UT. You will play a critical role in maintaining a secure environment by monitoring access, ensuring site security, and responding promptly to incidents — all in alignment with Ministry of Defence (MoD) protocols.

What you’ll do

• Greet staff and visitors and ensure they adhere to the required security identification and protocols for the site/area.
• Monitoring of CCTV, Access Control and other protective systems.
• Act as a first line response to activations & incidents or fault reporting.
• Log calls, relay messages and provide guidance and advice to visitors, clients, contractors and staff.
• Deliver and maintain customer service at all times, ensuring client satisfaction.
• Maintain a high standard of a well kept reception/entry area to ensure visitors journey starts with a positive impression.
• Accurately complete daily occurrence and incident reports.

What you bring

• Ability to interact with employees, contractors, consultants, visitors, and management as well as local police and fire authorities.
• Standard SIA license & CCTV License.
• Background in CCTV.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in working in a similar role.
• Knowledge of security techniques and site and local emergency procedures.
• Basic computer literacy.
