Job description
Overview

The post-holder will lead and supervise the catering team in the provision and delivery of all patient catering services with specific responsibilities for patient meals, retail, and hospitality in line with the NHS food review. You will be a supporting role to the team and be able to adapt to working within all areas of the department. We will support you in your own personal development.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the catering team in the provision and delivery of all patient catering services, including patient meals, retail, and hospitality.
  • Carry out a comprehensive range of tasks such as cash handling, audits and supervisory tasks including rotas, sickness management, and assisting in day-to-day management based at Queens Hospital.
  • Demonstrate initiative and awareness; communicate effectively as part of a team; maintain flexibility in working hours, including weekends and Bank Holidays, to meet departmental needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Ideal candidates should have achieved their NVQ Supervisory/Management or equivalent qualification.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work in challenging times.
  • Ability to adapt to working within all areas of the department; full training will be given.
Commitment and Working Arrangements

Good communication, teamwork, and a flexible approach to working hours are essential to meet the needs of the department. The post may require weekend and Bank Holiday work.
