Job summary

A leading events management organization in Windsor is seeking a Catering Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of catering operations for raceday and non‑raceday events. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership skills, at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role, and strong knowledge of food principles and practices. Full-time position with responsibilities including budget management and operational oversight.

Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • To work closely with the Executive Director and other team members to collectively deliver the annual budget for all catering department income and expenditure.
  • Ensure the accurate production of documentation for the monthly management accounts including monthly stock take labour analysis analysis of outlet performance.
  • Work alongside the commercial team and Head Chef to propose innovative and creative product offerings developing packages and sales strategies to achieve both raceday and non‑raceday income targets.
  • Work with the sales team to maximise as far as possible the profit for all raceday and non‑raceday events.
  • Work with the Head Chef and Staffing Manager to ensure the delivery of budgeted labour percentages for all raceday and non‑raceday events.
  • Operationally lead all aspects of raceday and non‑raceday events to a high standard, including hospitality restaurant, banquet food and beverage operations and retail food and beverage outlets.
  • Instruct, supervise and assist direct reports in their relevant duties.
  • Ensure adherence to all ARC HR policies and procedures including reporting and management of sickness or absenteeism; planning and approval of annual leave/holiday, 1‑1s, objectives and annual appraisals with regional HR support.
  • Undertake licensee responsibilities as required, including duties of Designated Premises Supervisor. Ensure relevant legislation regarding sale of alcohol is adhered to across the site.

The person we are looking for as a Catering Operations Manager has:

  • Proven leadership skills and ability to motivate and manage all levels of staff.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, POS systems and stock management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • 2 years' experience in a similar catering and events manager position.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Advance knowledge of food principles and practices.
