Job description

Berkeley Scott is currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Catering Assistants to support local schools across Bristol and the surrounding areas on a temporary basis. This is a rewarding role for anyone who enjoys working in a structured, child-friendly environment and has a passion for food service. You'll play an important part in helping the catering team prepare and serve nutritious meals to pupils and staff, while ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and safety are maintained.

  • Assist in the preparation and service of meals for pupils and staff
  • Ensure food is presented, portioned, and served in line with school standards
  • Support with general cleaning duties across the kitchen and dining areas
  • Maintain hygiene and follow all health & safety protocols consistently
  • Work collaboratively with the catering supervisor and school staff
  • Help set up and clear dining areas before and after meal service
    An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)
  • Previous experience in a kitchen, canteen, or catering environment (school experience desirable)
  • Good knowledge of basic food hygiene and safety practices
  • A positive, proactive attitude and ability to work in a busy environment
  • Reliability, punctuality, and strong teamwork skills
  • Flexibility for both short-term and longer-term assignments
