Job summary

A leading catering service provider in the United Kingdom is seeking a Catering Assistant to deliver excellent service standards and maintain cleanliness in service areas. This role involves preparing dining areas, serving food, and adhering to health and safety standards. Qualifications

  • Previous catering experience in a similar environment is desirable.
  • Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certificates can be obtained through training.
  • Adequate numeracy, literacy, and communication skills are required.

Job description

We're looking for a Catering Assistant who will deliver excellent service standards, while meeting SLA agreements and adhering to cleaning schedules.

Contract Details
  • Type: Permanent
  • Hours: Monday to Thursday 2pm to & Sunday 9.30am to 2.30pm (25 hours)
  • Pay: £12.24 plus double time for bank holidays
  • Location: B&Q Doncaster - DN67FB
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain dining and service areas, including furniture, trolleys, and cleaning equipment.
  • Serve food in correct portions and wash dishes, cutlery, and catering equipment.
  • Clean all catering areas daily and follow health and safety standards.
  • Handle cash collection, banking, and maintain records and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, managers, and colleagues to deliver excellent service.
Qualifications
  • Previous catering experience in a similar environment (desirable).
  • Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certificates (training provided if not held).
  • Adequate numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
  • Passion for customer service and ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Adaptable, detail-oriented, and confident with strong organisational and time management skills.
