Location: 2 St Peter’s Square / 1 King Street, Manchester, M2 3AA

Pay Rate: £12.60 per hour

Contract Type: Temporary (holiday cover)

Clearance Required: BPSS / Food Safety Lvl 2 / Health & Safety / Allergens Training

The Role

We’re recruiting a Food Barista / Catering Assistant to support catering operations at a secure DWP site in central Manchester. This is hands‑on, front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house work—serving customers properly, keeping standards tight, and getting the job done without fuss.

Key Duties
  • Assist with food and beverage preparation, presentation, and service
  • Serve customers at counters in a professional, friendly manner
  • Operate tills and handle cash accurately
  • Maintain cleanliness of service areas, equipment, and kitchen spaces
  • Replenish stock and assist with deliveries
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, COSHH, and health & safety procedures
  • Support the wider catering team as required, including ad‑hoc duties
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous food service or barista experience
  • Confident using a till and dealing with customers
  • Clean, professional presentation and a positive attitude
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Food Safety Level 2, Allergen Awareness, Manual Handling (desirable)
  • Must pass BPSS clearance (non‑negotiable)
