Job summary

A leading recruitment firm is seeking a Category Manager to work in Doncaster. In this role, you will develop and execute category strategies to maximize value and drive efficiency across a spend of around £5m. Ideal candidates have experience in procurement, preferably in manufacturing or engineering, and a CIPS qualification. Offering £45,000 plus a car allowance, this position allows for hybrid work, with three days in the office per week.

The Situation

Ford and Stanley are partnered with the UK s leading part supplier to the railway industry, with deep expertise across Infrastructure, Traction, and Rolling Stock.

Working out of one of their manufacturing sites, they are seeking a Category Manager to develop and execute category strategies that maximise value and drive competitive advantage across direct and/or indirect materials and strategically lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives.

The Opportunity
  • This is an exciting opportunity for a strategically minded procurement professional to work in one of the UK's most respected organisations in a high-impact sector
  • You will get to take full ownership of your own Category (s), seeking to maximise its efficiency & profitability
  • You will make autonomous decisions on future strategies, managing an annual spent of c.£5m.
  • You will have a high degree of involvement in making major improvements to the supply chain and be key in drastically improving supplier relations and consolidating the supply chain.
Location
  • Doncaster Hybrid working (3 days in office p/week)
Salary
  • £45,000 + £3,6000 car allowance (£300p/month)
Essential Experience
