Overview

TXM are working alongside a global business within the Rail industry who are looking to expand its team. This role will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring high standards of contractual and commercial arrangements. You will act as a key business partner, influencing stakeholders across the organisation, driving supplier performance, and implementing sourcing strategies to support business goals. The role requires resilience, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver procurement strategies across a defined category of spend (direct and/or indirect materials).
  • Manage supplier contracts, relationships, and performance, ensuring long-term value and collaboration.
  • Lead strategic sourcing exercises, including ITTs, RFQs, and supplier negotiations.
  • Provide data-driven insights, including cost analysis, benchmarking, and supplier financial assessments.
  • Influence and engage senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment across functions.
  • Identify and implement supplier development plans to support innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to a culture of cross-functional working, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
  • Support international opportunities through occasional overseas travel.
What is needed from you
  • CIPS qualification (Or a level 4)
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in procurement/category management within a distributed product or manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent negotiation, contract management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical ability.
  • Experience in supplier performance management and framework/long-term contract implementation
