A leading charity organization in the United Kingdom is seeking Support Workers to join their Intervenor Service. This role involves providing one-on-one support to children and adults with congenital deafblindness. The ideal candidates will assist individuals with daily living tasks and promote independence through sensory activities. No prior experience is necessary as specialized training is provided. We are now looking for Support Workers / Intervenors to join our Intervenor Service in the CentralHertfordshire area , working across various locations such as St Albans, Welwyn Garden city & Hatfield.
We will Provide 1 : 1 support to children and adults who have been born with sight and hearing impairments – known as congenital Deafblindness.
Intervenors promote personal and social development whilst encouraging independence through enabling access to activities.
You will receive specialist training in how to support individuals that have dual-sensory impairments, often combined with other disabilities. So you do not require any existing professional care experience!
It is essentialfor you to have a full UK license with the use of your own vehicle.
We are currently recruiting for bank / relief Intervenor's. There may be an opportunity for permanent roles where required across the service, based on the needs of the individual / ’s we support. The following hours are are currently available in Central Hertfordshire, but may be subject to change. You can ask the team more about Bank / Relief work at interview.
Looking to help someone live the life they choose? Are you in or able to access the St Albans area for 2-4hrs per week.
We have an individual who requires a tactile sensory approach who enjoys sensory activities and problem solving through puzzles, they also enjoy being independent with support to manage daily tasks such as making their own drinks and snacks.
You will be working towards supporting thechildrento enable them to enjoy play and learning through the development of everyday skills such as turn-taking and gaining independence in new environments.
One child requires support up to twice a week for 4hrs after school, these 4hrs would be delivered via 2 visits per week for 2hrs each.
The second child requires support twice a week, for 2hrs per visit, they enjoy exploring their own vocalisations, intensive interaction and exploring toys and how they operate.
For thisrole you will besupporting an adult in the Hatfield areafor up to 4 hours per week,The individual hasadual sensory impairment– they would likesupport withtheircommunication andsensory exploration of their surroundings through accessing activities of interest to them.
We have a teenager who requires support in the half terms in the Welwyn Garden City Area, they enjoy pampering sessions, cooking and trying new activities. If you already have experience with Braille, or if you are interested in learning about Braille, we would like to hear from you.
Within this post you will provide support up to 6 hours per week, depending on your suitability / availability.You will be working on a1 : 1basis,supporting achild who requiressupport every weekend for 4hrs. They are also looking for support for 2hrs after school, during the weekdays. Do you have an interest for the approach of intensive interaction, do you have a flare for sensory activities and promoting communication through pictures / photos.
