A local council's direct support team in Wales is seeking a committed Personal Assistant to support a 17-year-old in gaining independence and engaging in community activities. The ideal candidate will work flexibly, assist with personal care, and drive the young person to various activities. Must have experience working with young adults with disabilities, a full driving license, and be DBS checked. This role is vital for improving the young person's social skills and confidence.

Personal Assistant: Hours of work - 6 hours term time, 8 hours half terms (days and times to be discussed). Hourly rate - £13.75. A committed, caring and flexible Personal Assistant is required to support a 17 year old young person looking to gain access into his community to undertake hobbies and interests of his choice.
The hours are to be worked flexibly as required and agreed in advance to take him to and from activities of his choice most likely 2 hours a day and spread over the week.
The young person will need help with some Personal Care needs as well keeping him safe as he’s not aware of danger.
This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme and is intended to enable the young person to help with his independence as well as social skills with the assistance of a PA, enabling him to live an independent lifestyle.
Training can be provided as required and where available.
Must have own transport and a full, clean driving licence and be DBS checked.
Experience in working with children/young adults with a disability is beneficial to the role.
