A prominent educational institution is seeking a Careers and Employability Advisor to provide tailored careers guidance and coordinate employability activities. The role requires a Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance and experience in an educational setting. Responsibilities include delivering group sessions, advising on financial support options, and engaging students of diverse backgrounds. This role offers a chance to make significant impacts on students' career prospects while working in a forward-thinking team in London.
We have full time and part time, permanent roles available across our London Sites. We have one full time roles at Tottenham, and one part time role at Finsbury Park (17.5 hours a week).
In this role, you will collaborate with the EEC Manager, curriculum teams, and a wide range of external partners to design and deliver an inspiring careers programme that meets the Matrix Standard and Gatsby Benchmarks. Your work will include one-to-one guidance, targeted group sessions, and leading high-profile activities such as careers fairs, employer masterclasses, and university visits. A key part of your role will be helping learners to build the skills and confidence they need for the workplace while also championing widening participation. You will need to be confident engaging with groups of students, delivering in classroom settings, and representing the service in front of employers, universities, and other stakeholders.
Ideally, you will hold a Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance (or equivalent), or have a Level 4 qualification, working towards Level 6, and have experience of working in a similar role within an educational setting. You will be a confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with students from a range of backgrounds. A clear understanding of educational pathways including UCAS, apprenticeships and vocational routes is essential.
