Job Title: Care Solicitor
Salary Range: £35,000 to £50,000
Location: Barnsley (with hybrid working)
Contract: Full or Part Time, Permanent

Position
  • Represent clients in court proceedings related to child protection and care, including matters such as care orders, supervision orders, adoption, and placement applications.
  • Provide clear, concise legal advice, ensuring clients remain fully informed of their rights and obligations throughout every stage of the legal process.
  • Manage a varied caseload of both public and private law children matters, handling cases from the initial instructions through to court hearings while ensuring that all deadlines and court timetables are adhered to.
  • Collaborate with other professionals such as social workers, guardians, and expert witnesses to keep the best interests of the child at the centre of every case.
  • Attend meetings with clients, local authorities, and other key stakeholders, as well as negotiate settlements where appropriate.
  • Prepare all necessary legal documentation and attend court hearings on behalf of clients, presenting their case clearly and advocating their position effectively.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all cases, ensuring that all client files are managed efficiently, securely, and in line with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
