One-Year Clinical Fellowship in Inherited Cardiac Conditions – CardiologyTrust Grade Doctor Appointment – Immediate Start

A vacancy at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, based at Hammersmith Hospital, part of the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The post is within the joint Directorate of Women’s, Cardiac, Clinical Support and Sexual Health, specifically in the Cardiac Division.

The Imperial Department of Cardiovascular Medicine spans the St Mary’s, Charing Cross, and Hammersmith Hospital sites, offering a unique opportunity to work across a diverse and dynamic clinical environment. Imperial provides the main hub for comprehensive acute and complex cardiology in West London at the Hammersmith Campus, with full access to tertiary centre facilities including advanced imaging, genetics, electrophysiology, cardiac surgery for ICCs, and structural and interventional cardiology.

This fellowship offers a strong academic and research component, with close ties to Imperial College London, one of the world’s leading research institutions. Fellows will be encouraged to engage in ongoing research projects, contribute to academic publications, and participate in collaborative studies within the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) infrastructure and other Imperial College-led initiatives. Opportunities for involvement in teaching and postgraduate education are also available, supporting career development in academic cardiology.

Training and Experience

The post will be outside the Cardiology SpR training rota and will not form part of the SpR on call rota. It is suitable for candidates in any year of training or post‑CCST who wish to pursue a career in ICC cardiology.

Qualifications and Requirements

All candidates must have full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC. Full MRCP is required. Where equivalent qualifications or experience are being offered, the candidate must provide written confirmation from the Royal College and attach this to their application. Applicants who do not provide this confirmation will not be shortlisted.

Immigration Requirements

Doctors who are not UK or EEA nationals and whose immigration status entitles them to work without restriction in the UK will be considered on an equal basis with UK and EEA nationals. Other non‑UK or non‑EEA nationals with limited leave to remain in the UK and whose employment will require Tier 2 sponsorship are subject to the Resident Labour Market Test (RLMT). Applicants may only be considered if there is no suitable UK or EEA national candidate for the post. Evidence of immigration status should normally consist of a biometric residence card, date‑stamped passport and an accompanying letter from the Home Office.
