A staffing agency is seeking an experienced Car Fleet & Facilities Manager to oversee daily operations of a car fleet and facilities management across sites in Basildon and Winsford. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of fleet management experience, strong negotiation skills, and proficiency in fleet management software. This role offers a hybrid working environment and a fixed-term contract with potential extension.
One to One Personnel is proud to partner with a leading blue–chip manufacturing client for a unique position as a Car Fleet & Facilities Manager. This role is based at their Basildon site on a hybrid basis (2/3 days onsite) Initially on a 6 month fixed term contract, with the possibility of an extension.
To be considered, you must have a minimum of 5 years experience in fleet management with a strong understanding of fleet operations, maintenance and compliance regulations.
To take ownership of the day–to–day management of the company car fleet; Basildon Office and manage the building and facilities of the Winsford site.
Oversee and manage the daily operations of the UK car fleet (approx. 100 vehicles across 4 businesses) and 2 fleet providers (Leasys and Ayvens), ensuring optimal utilization of vehicles and equipment in line with Company Policy
Lead on the develop and implement policies and procedures for fleet management, maintenance, and compliance, collaborating with the Central Reward Team on central requirements and policy
Conduct regular audits and inspections of fleet operations to ensure adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements
Analyse fleet performance metrics and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement; and ensuring compliance for job cars
Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers, negotiating contracts and service agreements, liaising with the Central Reward Team as appropriate
Onboarding and offboarding employees in the Car Scheme for both flexi and long–term leased cars
Lead training sessions for staff on fleet safety, maintenance protocols, and operational best practices
Oversea and manage the of Pool car scheme.
Oversea and manage the car insurance scheme for all UK car fleet and owned vehicles
Oversea and manage of fuel card scheme
Oversea and manage drivers licence checks for users of the car fleet through the fleet provider and locally for users who are named drivers of the car fleet and pool car
Occasionally driving to dealers for cars as needed
Ensuring correct insurances are in place for buildings and equipment as needed
Ensuring compliance with security and safety regulations
Work with the H&S Manager to ensure offices are compliant with H&S requirements (including PAC and fire extinguisher testing)Support the appointed Facilities Management Company s team on Winsford site
Source and negotiate with suppliers for LVO orders to ensure best value
Liaising with site facilities and maintenance (including air–con and fire extinguishers) to ensure the smooth management of local tasks
Provide cover at Basildon Office to ensure collection and separation of post from reception, including ensuring cover when absent from the office
Occasionally driving to Winsford site for project work
Over 5 years experience in fleet management or a related field
Strong understanding of fleet operations, maintenance and compliance regulations
Proficient in fleet management software and data analysis tools
A strong analytical / problem solving mind–set, with the ability and willingness to get into the detail to find solutions
A self–motivated individual contributor who can work effectively with general guidance towards objectives
Strong third party supplier and stakeholder management experience
Negotiation skills for negotiating contracts and for managing projects
Excellent Excel skills
Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work from Basildon 3 days per week
Ability to work from Winsford quarterly, or visits as required
Full and valid driver s licence
Familiarity with telematics and vehicle tracking systems
Experience in H&S regulations
Diligence and attention to detail, especially when recording actions for follow–up
Clear communicator, written and verbal
Ability to teamwork with remote partner and customers
Organised, able to multitask, with a structured approach to task management
Must be able to work under pressure respecting tight deadlines
